About the Retreat
You don’t want to miss this captivating retreat presented by Father Wayne C. Genereux. It is open to men and women, CEO’s, upper and middle management, college students preparing for a business career, anyone who is working in a leadership role, or anyone who wants to be an authentically human person.
Father Wayne, a Priest of the Diocese of St. Petersburg, worked for twenty years in newspaper advertising, public relations, education, and event planning prior to entering the priesthood. He studied his theology in Rome, and personally met Blessed John Paul II, and was one of several Deacons who participated in the Chrism Mass with John Paul in 1997, the year he was ordained a priest.
He will take you on an exciting journey of Andreas Widmer’s leadership lessons learned from Blessed John Paul II. Widmer is a former Swiss Guard and an experienced CEO and business leader. You will learn how his success was shaped and forged to become a successful corporate executive.
Andreas Widmer gives striking testimony to the heroic holiness of the life of Blessed John Paul II and how he continues to inspire him”. - Cardinal Raymond Burke
Andreas Widmer gives us a true gift by sharing John Paul II’s personal habits so that we can incorporate these in our own leadership journey. He shows us that it is possible to achieve the sanctity of leadership even in the context of business”. – Carolyn Y. Woo, former Dean of the Mendoza College of Business at Notre Dame University, and now President and CEO of Catholic Relief Services
I encourage all people during this Year of Faith seeking to integrate faith into all aspects of their lives to take advantage of this unique retreat about Blessed John Paul’s leadership lessons. This is a rare opportunity to learn from one of the greatest spiritual leaders of the 20th Century. The leadership lessons Andreas Widmer learned from Blessed John Paul II directed his quest to live his Catholic faith as a corporate executive and CEO.” - Most Reverend Robert N. Lynch, Bishop of the Diocese of St. Petersburg

The Bethany Center is located off Vandyke Road in Lutz. It is one of the premier retreat centers in the Diocese of St. Petersburg.
Bethany is where siblings Lazarus, Mary and Martha opened their home to a friend Jesus, offering a place of peace, friendship, education and renewal.
The Bethany Center offers 200 acres with turn of the century old Florida architecture. The buildings and lakeside property complement each other providing a tranquil and charming, yet refined setting. This natural beauty encourages reflection and personal renewal. The facility is hidden by the solitude and isolation provided by the natural surroundings.
