Fr. Carlos Rojas

Fr. Carlos Rojas is currently Pastor of St. Rita Parish in Dade City, a professor at St. Leo University, and is the Spiritual Director of Schoenstatt Tampa Bay, Inc. He is a sought-after speaker for conferences, retreats and parish missions, including leading a session at the 10th National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis. Fr. Rojas was born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in Puerto Rico. At age 15, he moved with his family to Tampa. He graduated from St. John Vianney Seminary in Miami, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and then St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in Boynton Beach, where he received a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Theology. Father Rojas was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Robert Lynch for the Diocese of St. Petersburg on May 20, 2006. He is a certified Spiritual Director and Retreat Director from the Institute of Priestly Formation from Creighton University. He completed a pontifical certificate in Marian Studies from the International Marian Research Institute from the University of Dayton, Ohio. He considers himself a Marian diocesan priest with the mission of raising children into Christ Jesus in partnership with Mary, in the spirit of St. Joseph, chaste spouse of Mary.

Fr. Chuck Dornquast

Fr. Chuck Dornquast is Director of Vocations for the Diocese of St. Petersburg. Fr. Chuck is a firm believer in the abundance of the harvest for vocations to the priesthood and religious life of our Diocese. Born and raised in a rural area of Zephyrhills, Fr. Chuck is very familiar with images of shepherds and harvests. He is one of five siblings and has grown up with an admiration and love of what the Church and her ministers can accomplish. For many years his own family was supported by the generosity of his home parish. As a student involved in High School youth ministry, Fr. Chuck experienced a deep call to the priesthood during exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Shortly thereafter he was invited to attend a Vocation Awareness Weekend at St. John Vianney College Seminary which “sealed the deal” for him. After graduating from Zephyrhills High School, he entered seminary and spent his 9 years between St. John Vianney and St. Vincent de Paul. Throughout his seminary experience it was often the moments of ministering with the people of the Diocese of St. Petersburg which kept aflame his desire to serve as a priest of Jesus Christ. He was ordained May 16, 2015 and spent the first 4 years of his priesthood at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Tampa. Throughout his time, he served as chaplain for the parish school, Tampa Catholic HS, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He began his role as Director of Vocations for the Diocese in July of 2019. Fr. Chuck is grateful to any and all of the groups, especially Serra Club and the Knights of Columbus, who were supports to him during his time in Seminary and who remain committed to promoting vocations within our Diocese.

Brian Greenfield is the Assistant Principal for Discipline at Jesuit High School in Tampa. He is also a nationally revered Catholic youth speaker and evangelist, addressing audiences of thousands at major events such as the 10th National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis. Brian believes that God has given him gifts to bring the message of Jesus Christ to others and knows that there is a prevailing hopelessness in this world that can only be remedied through an encounter with Christ. He been lauded by noted contemporaries such as Chris Stefanik, Deacon Harold Burk-Sivers and Leah Darrow. Brian has been with Jesuit since 2011-12, when he started as the Director of Campus Ministry. He shifted to teaching theology full-time at the start of the 2015-16 school year and has served as moderator of the school's African-American Club when it was founded in 2018. Mr. Greenfield graduated from Seton Hall University with a Bachelor's degree and also has earned two Master's degrees, an M.A. in Theology and an M.A. in Education Leadership.  As Assistant Principal for Discipline, Brian works closely with faculty, students, and parents to instill a school culture of care and respect while maintaining Jesuit’s standards for decorum.

After earning a Licentiate in Biblical Exegesis at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome, he served as a parish priest in Italy, Greece, and Canada. He gave conferences, conducted seminars, and preached retreats and parochial missions in several countries of Europe and the Americas. He authored publications on biblical topics including The Gospel of Mark and The Book of Tobit. From 2016 to 2021, he was on faculty at Saint Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in Boynton Beach, FL. After serving at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Tampa, Fr. Rosolen came to Saint Joseph Seminary College in January 2023.

Fr. Lou Turcotte will serve at Mass celebrant and homilist. He is the Parochial Vicar at Christ the King Catholic Church in Tampa.

Fr. Lou is a Florida native, born and raised in Clearwater, FL with his mom, dad, and two sisters. He grew up attending Light of Christ Church before heading up to Gainesville to get a degree in Marketing from the University of Florida. But the priesthood had been rolling around in his head for years, and he finally caved to God’s invitation after graduation, heading to seven years of seminary in Miami and Boynton Beach.

He was ordained in 2018 and has served at St. Timothy’s, St. Raphael’s, and St. Stephen’s parishes, before arriving at Christ the King in July.

He loves Liverpool FC, Chick-fil-a milkshakes, and disc golf, but is primarily grateful for God calling him to such an awesome vocation.

PERSONAL WITNESS TALK

Once again, a Personal Witness Talk will be part of our conference lineup. A man from the audience will share his personal story of how his Catholic faith has shaped his life.

By sharing from his heart, the Personal Witness speaker helps the other men in attendance delve into their own hearts to see how God can and does work in their lives, even when they may feel overwhelmed with nowhere else to turn.

Each year, men in attendance have expressed how important it was to hear someone like them share his personal faith journey.

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!

Special Breakout Sessions

At our past two conferences, we added three concurrent Breakout Sessions to close the day. Each 45-minute session covered a topic related to the conference theme. The survey results from both conferences clearly indicated that the Breakout Sessions were a huge success, so we will be repeating them once again.

We will record all three breakout sessions and post the videos with the other conference recordings, so attendess can view any sessions they missed.

The topics and leaders for the 2025 breakout sessions are:
  • Knowing the Faith - Fr. Higinio Rosolen
  • Defending the Faith - Brian Greenfield
  • Evangelizing the Faith - Fr. Chuck Dornquast
