Gus and Michelle Lloyd have been married for over 30 years.  They are the proud parents of four children, ranging in age from 15 to 28. Gus grew up in the Catholic faith.  As a kid, his family was like a cross between the Brady Bunch (3 boys and 3 girls…Gus is Greg Brady) and the Partridge Family (very musical).  They used to have a family choir which sang at their local parish, Mary, Help of Christians in Fairborn, OH.  He went to Catholic school, was an altar boy and did all the stuff that Catholic kids do.  As a teen, Gus fell away from his faith.  After graduating from high school, Gus went to broadcasting school to pursue the career that he knew he wanted ever since he was a little kid…radio.  Gus had always loved the old Boss Radio Jocks and had shown a talent for public speaking at an early age.  He was a lector at age 10, and won a state championship in a speech contest in high school.Gus got his first radio gig in 1979 at WFIV, a small country AM station in Kissimmee, FL. Shortly after that, he moved back to Ohio to wed Michelle in 1980.  From there he did the radio gypsy thing…moving from market to market to get better gigs and more money. Shortly after the birth of their first daughter, the couple decided to move to Florida to start a family business, Lloyd’s of Lawndom. When their oldest (and only, at the time) daughter went through a near-drowning incident, life began to change.  Michelle gave her life to Christ, and Gus did the same some months later.  After worshipping at a non-denominational church, Gus and Michelle decided to check out the Catholic Church again.  When they did, they saw the Bible come to life! After much prayer and study, Gus felt the calling to become a Catholic evangelist. In the early 1990′s, he attended the Catholic School of Lay Evangelization in Pensacola, FL.In 1992, after the death of his youngest brother, Gus was called back into radio. WBVM, the Catholic station in Tampa, FL asked if Gus would do a Friday contemporary Christian music show.  Before long, they asked if he would host their morning show, and Gus agreed.  After 3 years of hosting the morning show, Gus left to become a Sales Manager with a computer training company.  But after 10 month and many calls asking that they bring Gus back, WBVM asked Gus to come back and start out their new format, Spirit FM.  Gus was the popular morning show host at Spirit FM for another 9 years. In the summer of 2006, the Archdiocese of New York called to talk with Gus about hosting the morning show on the new Catholic Channel on Sirius Satellite Radio.  He went on the air December 4, 2006. Seize the Day is now on Sirius XM 129 (not Sirius 129 and XM 117).  Also, his show will begin airing from 7-11 a.m. eastern time beginnning in July.Gus also does voice over work for radio, TV, video and the Internet. He speaks at conferences and parishes around the country on topics ranging from spirituality to apologetics to being a
Catholic in today’s world.
